There are endless possibilities for stunning ceremony sites: next to Hickory Nut Creek and its many waterfalls, in the organic orchard and gardens, near the ruins of the old farmhouse and standing stone chimneys, near the restored gristmill, and in the meadow.

The lodge itself is a beautiful site - on the huge deck overlooking the waterfall, or in the matchless and unique great room.

Wedding packages

Laughing Waters stands apart as a wedding venue by giving you access to the entire property, including both the lodge and the cottage, for as long as you like.

Standard packages for weddings and elopements are for one day, one day and one night, or an entire weekend. But the sky is the limit, and each bridal couple chooses what works best for them.

Preserving the Natural Beauty

Sustainability is the driving force behind all that happens at Laughing Waters. Much of our property is in conservation easement, meaning it will never be developed. We believe in keeping the forest wild and free. It is a wilderness sanctuary.

The electricity that powers the buildings is generated from Hickory Nut Creek. All the wood used in the great room of the lodge was milled from the trees taken down when it was built.

We recycle and compost.
We strive to reduce our carbon footprint. We support local businesses. We have an organic orchard and gardens. The lodge is a short walk away from access to miles and miles of award-winning hiking trails.
